Pure origin. Thomas Kopfensteiner has been cultivating selected parcels of the Saybritz vineyard for twenty years, primarily in the lower and middle part of the slope. Here, stone and earth are both equally present and lend the wines a gentle substance and structure-giving minerality.

It all started when Thomas was driven by the desire to vinify a top Blaufränkisch. He had a “selection” in mind, but the best barrels for this always came exclusively from the Saybritz vineyard. As a result, the winemaker focused more and more on this vineyard and was one of the first winemakers to vinify the vineyard separately in 2009. Pure origin – a great moment on the Eisenberg! But Thomas Kopfensteiner’s ‘Saybritz’ is not his only legendary wine: in 2020, Falstaff magazine named the Eisenberg DAC Reserve Ried Reihburg 2018 the best Blaufränkisch in the country in its Red Wine Guide.
