The king of the mountains. The focus at Wagner winery is on practising viticulture that is as low-intervention, pure and natural as possible, which – and this is the most important thing – expresses the individual character of origin in the wine. Adalbert and Max, father and son, run a small vineyard on extremely exciting terroir. The Königsberg is an island of dolomite limestone set in the middle of predominantly slate rock. The estate’s Blaufränkisch in particular clearly shows the character of the limestone with fullness and compactness. Thanks to his fascination for this unique origin, journalist Max Wagner found his way from the written word to the rows of vines.
