The innovative traditionalist. Down-to-earth, straightforward and always a pleasure – that is the character of both winemaker Mathias Jalits and his wines. He is the fifth generation to run the Jalits winery in Badersdorf, whose vineyards are mainly located on the Eisenberg.

Mathias’ heart beats for the Blaufränkisch grape variety. The winemaker loves to work out the different soil types with the sensitive Blaufränkisch grape variety in an authentic way. His unorthodox approach makes him an “innovative traditionalist”. He improves the tried and tested with a fine blade, keeping the typicality of the origin and the strengths of his home region firmly in view.
